Ziti Dinner to Benefit Alyssa Casson

A ziti dinner will be held at the Prospect Firehouse hall on Saturday, July 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the benefit dinner will go to support Alyssa Casson, daughter of Jim and Bernadette (Tuccillo) Casson of Prospect. Adult admission is $10, children under 12, $5; and children under 3 will eat for free. The public is invited to support this family in helping their daughter Alyssa with her medical treatment. There will be raffles, food and fun for all. If you are unable to attend this worthwhile event, but would like to make a contribution, please send your check payable to Alyssa Casson Benefit Fund, c/o Webster Bank, 45 Waterbury Rd., Prospect, CT 06712. Prospect Ct Real Estate market first half of 2008

The Real Estate market here in Prospect has felt the gas price/economy issues that much of the nation has been going through. As you can see in the info below the average list price for a home in Prospect for the first half of 2007 was $339,149 with an average selling price of $327,869. That is down nearly 8.5% for the first half of 2008. The average list price was $314,432 and the average sale price was $300,722. The closed sales also decreased from 36 in the first half of 2007 to 28 in the first half of 2008. This is a slip of 23%!

With these types of numbers it is easy to see why it is more important now than ever to price your home correctly, to limit the Days on Market (DOM) and maximize the sales price.

The Rainbow leads to….Prospect, Ct.

Well the freak storm last night at least produced one good thing, a great rainbow! Here in Prospect we received 3″ of Rain in 30 minutes. The winds picked up and knocked down several trees causing some temporary road closures. The Prospect Fire House was struck by lightning and lost their phone service and also power. Mayor bob said the 911 service was never interrupted however.

New Kids in Motion Park and Playscape in Cheshire, Ct

Cheshire recently opened a new Playscape for the kids and we visited it this past week.  I have never seen anything like this, and it is a true must see.

That is the map link to the location, although what is shown is the OLD playscape, not the new one.  There is so much to do and we spent two hours there, the time just flew.  Everything from a sandbox area, to a Spider web climbing area, a large rock climbing unit, several playscapes, Picnic areas, etc, etc.  There also seems to be a large emphasis on safety.  The padding underfoot of several sections is a composite material that is very spongy.  It seems like the truely spared no expense.
