The Beardsley Zoo in CT. Fun family trip idea.

My family and I made our way over to Beardsley zoo in Bridgeport.  It was a beautiful, cool day, and the zoo wasn’t too crowded.  The zoo has a new bird show that shows three times a day.  It was very interesting in that it is an “in the air” bird show with none of the birds having clipped wings. 

There was a little excitement when the owl in the show took off, and they zoo rangers had to attempt to track him down. 

One tip… Check your local library for passes to local attractions.  Our local zoo has several Museums and kids attractions.  The Beardsley zoo passes out library has admit 4 for FREE.  You can’t beat that.

 Also be sure to pack a cooler with sandwiches and drinks.  There is a great place to sit in the shade and enjoy your lunch!
